ONLY OFFICIAL REPRESENTATIVE OF SYSTEMA - RUSSIAN COMBAT SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATION OF NATIVE COMBAT ARTS IN AFRICA.

WHAT IS
SYSTEMA?

Unique, diverse and complete way of training and the way of life that makes one a Warrior – skilled at defending himself and others, healthy and powerful, a true Warrior capable of leading the battle in his own heart and turn pride, aggression and fear into humility, courage and strength.

Systema is not a combination of styles or deviation from Eastern Martial Arts!

Systema is a comprehensive survival and combat discipline which enables a practitioner to become effective in all aspects of modern combat.

A Systema practitioner must learn to fight from any position in any situation. Working with, or fighting against vast variations of conventional and improvised weapons, standing or on the ground, defeating single or multiple attackers.

Our unique training is specifically designed to entrench neuromuscular memory and to re-educate bio-mechanical awareness and bio-energetic potential, which is critical for neutralization of high intensity conflict.

Our teaching methods and principals are identical to those used for training Spetsnaz (Russian Special Forces) units.

Origins of Systema

The roots of Systema can be traced back to the martial culture of Slavic people. People who believe in goodness, mercy and humility. Many will agree that these qualities characterize the Russian nation.

Until recently, outside of Russia, not many people had ever heard of the Russian Martial Arts. They existed as a form of compulsory combat training for young warriors learning in and around monasteries of the Russian Orthodox Church and passed through generations as a centuries old experience in defenders of the Fatherland.

Throughout hundreds of years of constant wars with an endless invading forces, Russian Martial Arts acquired a marked advantage in its adaptability and training concepts. Russian warriors had to learn to use their surrounding environment, the art of camouflage, as well as all types of available weapons. That’s where, even today, lies the difference between sports and combat arts.

During the Soviet period, Systema was reserved exclusively for selected military personnel and special operation units or SPETSNAZ. Only since the early 90’s has it became available to the general public. Systema, as we know it today, was founded and introduced to the western world by Mikhail Ryabko, Colonel of Spetsnaz, Chief Instructor of tactical training for counter terrorism units and advisor to the ministry of justice of the Russian Federation and Vladimir Vasiliev former operative of one of Russian special operation units, Chief Instructor of school in Toronto, Canada.

Today Systema is taught to elite units even outside of Russian Federation.

Philosophy

There is a reason why this combat system is called Systema or The System. It is a complete set of concepts and training components that enhance one’s life. In this case, acquiring the martial art skill is a way to improve the function of all seven physiological systems of the body and all three levels of human abilities; the Physical, the Psychological and the Spiritual.

The key principle of Systema is non-destruction. The goal is to make sure that your training and your attitude do no damage to the body or the psyche. The System is designed to create, build and strengthen your body, your psyche, your family and your country.

In the Russian Orthodox Christian faith, the belief is that everything that happens to us, good or bad, has only one ultimate purpose: to fully understand and better oneself. Systema carries the same objective - to put every participant into the best possible setting for the practitioner to realize as much about himself as he is able to handle at any given moment.

In Mikhail Ryabko’s words “Be a good person and everything else will come to you.” In a simple, yet comprehensive way Systema helps you choose and follow the right path.
